Robin Gail
Casto
Mar 31, 1959 — Dec 15, 2024
Robin Gail (Morris) Casto, 65, of Leon, WV, went home to be with her Savior on December 15, 2024, at home with her family after a hard fought battle with cancer. Her deep-rooted Christian faith assures us this is not the end of what has so far been a wonderful life.
Robin was born on March 31, 1959, the daughter of the late Bernard and Ellen (Rogers) Morris, of Statts Mills, WV.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Denver Casto of Leon, WV, and her children's Godparents, Gay and Imogene Herdman of Leon, WV.
Robin was a graduate of Ripley High School, class of '77. She went on to further her education and graduated with a teaching degree from West Virginia Wesleyan. Robin married her dream come true, Dennie Casto, on August 16th, 1980. They spent most of their 44 years together on their farm in Leon, WV, where they raised their family and served the Lord in various roles as members of Creston Church. Robin was active in the church as a Sunday school teacher, youth leader, mission trip member and coordinator, piano player, VBS director, Operation Christmas Child organizer and various other positions. Her passion was youth, and she loved being a teacher, which she did for over 35 years in Mason and Jackson counties at the following elementary schools: Ripley, Mt. Flower, Leon, Roosevelt, and Evans. She also enjoyed camping with her 4-Her's each summer at older and younger camps where she was lovingly known as "Momma Casto". She loved making memories with her family and creating new traditions as well as keeping old ones. She had a knack for turning ordinary days into special adventures for her grandkids and was their biggest fan at all of their events. She loved traveling, especially if her whole family was with her, or ending the day with a 'nanner split.
She is survived by her loving husband, Dennie Casto, and her five children: DJ (Jocelyn) Casto of Leon, currently serving God in Uganda, Tebaliah (Micah) Martindale of Leon, WV, Laura (Andrew) Blain of Leon, WV, Hannah (Aaron) Snodgrass of Leon, WV, and Megan (John) Moran of Point Pleasant, WV. She loved every second of being a Granny to her 14 grandchildren, Hadassah and Rhema Casto, Ezekiel, Elianna, Avielle, Adaleigh and Zion Martindale, Levi, Luke, Landon and Audrey Blain, and Porter, Holly, and Maggie Snodgrass. She is also survived by her sister, Rev. Terry Deane and her brother, Barney (Julie) Morris of Statts Mills, WV; her mother-in-law, Lura Belle Casto of Leon, WV; as well as several brothers and sisters in laws, nieces and nephews, and extended members of her family whom she loved dearly.
Service will be~ 11 a.m. Friday, December 20, 2024, at Casto Funeral Home, Evans, WV with ministers, D.J. Casto, Terry Deane, Trent Casto, and Pat Pistelli officiating. Burial will follow in Baker Cemetery, Leon, WV. A visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., Thursday, December 19, 2024, at Casto Funeral Home, Evans.
