Roger Earl Cain, 82, of Sandyville, WV, passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at home, surrounded by his family.

He was born May 28, 1941, a son of the late Clarence and Anna (Palmer) Cain. During his teen years, he resided with a special uncle and aunt, Lindsay and Helen Palmer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Leonald Cain; sister, Eloise Andrick and a special cousin, Dawn Palmer Beckner.

Roger was a 1959 graduate of Wirt County High School. He served in the United States Army and retired from Belle Atlantic with 34 years of service. Roger was a longtime member of the Mt. Hope United Methodist Church where he also served as the Sunday School Superintendent, and Sunday School teacher of the youth and adult classes. Most of all, he was a loving and faithful husband, father, and pap, who never missed any events of his grandkids.

Left to cherish his wonderful memory include his beloved wife of 59 years, Pauline (Lockhart) Cain; children, Traci (Steve) Morrison, Scott (Lora) Cain, Terri (Kevin) Ohrn; seven grandchildren, Anna (Brian), Mollie (Tyler), Logan (Shauri), Emily (Jake), Jon (Kristen), Brady, Abby (Braxton); 13 great grandchildren, Chase, Channing, Elsley, Phoenix, Greyson, Adaline, Rooney, Elias, Kyrie, Carson, Rowan, Sutton, Thea; sisters, Anna Faye Lockhart, and Janet Sayre; and one brother, Larry Cain.

A service to honor his life will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at Casto Funeral Home, Evans, WV, with Rick Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Pisgah United Methodist Church Cemetery, Wirt County, WV. Friends may visit with the family from 12 p.m. until time of service on Tuesday, at the funeral home.
