Roger Lloyd Hardesty, 77, of Sandyville, WV, passed away September 2, 2026 in Ravenswood Care Center following an extended illness.

He was born January 2, 1949, in Sandyville, WV, a son of the late Lloyd K. and Virginia Pauline (Williams) Hardesty. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Donald and Ralph Hardesty.

He was a graduate of Ravenswood High School. He was a former employee of State Construction and Carl Smith Inc. Roger retired from Dupont Washington Works with 20 plus years of service. He enjoyed NASCAR, farming and driving semi-trucks.

Survivors include his daughter, Melissa Riggs (Rick Sisson); grandchildren, Jennifer (Ryan) Kendall and Brandon Riggs; sister, Dottie Rogers of Mineral Wells, WV.

Service will be 1 p.m. ~ Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at Casto Funeral Home, Ravenswood, WV, with Rick Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Independence Cemetery, Sandyville, WV. Visitation will be from 11a.m. until time-of-service Wednesday at the funeral home.
