Ronald Lee Barr, 73, of Leon, WV, passed away Sunday, March 27, 2022.

He was born March 15, 1949, in Mason County, WV, a son of the late Ray Elmer and Gloria Ruth (Sayre) Barr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, James Barr; brothers, Thomas Barr, Robert Barr; sister, Louise Pringle and sister-in-law, Mauna Barr.

Ronald was a United States Army Veteran and served during Vietnam. He retired as a Coal Miner from Meigs Mines #31 with 38 years of service. Ronald owned and operated Ron's Tire Removal in Leon and enjoyed helping others. He was a member of the American Legion Post #23, Point Pleasant, the National Rifle Association and was Christian by faith. Ronald enjoyed farming, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 46 years, Opal (Prince) Barr; son, Gregory Miller and his wife, Amy of Leon; daughter, Angela Waldron and her husband, Kevin of Leon; brother, Clayton Barr and his wife, Patsy of Leon; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Service will be 2 p.m., Friday, April 1, 2022, at Casto Funeral Home, Evans, WV, with his brother, Pastor Clayton Barr officiating. Military rites will be provided prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow in the Barr Family Cemetery, Leon. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until time of service on Friday, at the funeral home.
