Roy Junior Bowers, 94, of Evans, WV , passed away April 18, 2022 in Wyngate Senior Living Center, Parkersburg, WV, following an extended illness.

He was born September 2, 1927, in Osawatomie, KS, a son of the late Roy G. Bowers and Sylvia (Maher) Bowers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Joyce (Carmichael) Bowers.

He was retired from the United States Navy with twenty years of service. He served during World War II and Korea. He was a former air traffic controller at Fort Rucker, AL and a member of the American Federation of Government Employees with five years of service.

He and his wife Joyce enjoyed traveling in their Airstream all over the United States, Canada and Mexico. They had many friends who would join them on their travels.

Survivors include his son, Steven R. Bowers of Evans, WV; daughter, Cathy B. Magouyrk of Monterey, TN and Cindy B. Thomas of Dothan, AL; six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

There will be no public services. Arrangements provided by Casto Funeral Home, Evans, WV.
