Ruby Cordelia (Sharp) Blankenship, 93, of Ripley, WV, passed away February 3, 2023 at her home following an extended illness.

She was born June 2, 1929 in the Parchment area of Jackson County a daughter of the late James Albert and Ruby Mae (Pringle) Sharp. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Leonard Blankenship; brothers, Walter, Herbert and Dwayne Sharp and a sister, Lucille Walton.

She was a graduate of Ripley High School and a former clerk with 20 plus years of service for the State of West Virginia. She was a member of Mercy Baptist Church and enjoyed reading her Bible.

Survivors include her sons, Donnie (Doris) Blankenship of LeRoy and John ( Beverly) Blankenship of Liverpool; daughter, Joyce (Tim) King of Evans; sister, JoAnn King of Cincinnati, OH; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Service will be 12 o'clock noon, Tuesday ~ February 7, 2023 at Casto Funeral Home, Evans, WV with Pastors Bradley Goodwin and Kevin McClung officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, Ripley, WV. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
