Shirley Marie (Sayre) Southall, 76, of Ripley, WV, passed away November 6, 2025 at her home following an extended illness.

She was born February 19, 1949 a daughter of the late Holly W. and Hazel May (Hughes) Sayre. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lakin Southall; sons, Todd and Randy Southall; brothers, B. Lewis "Louie" Sayre and Neil Sayre; sister, Naomi Miller.

She was a graduate of Ripley High School. She retired from the Jackson County Board of Education as a school bus driver. She enjoyed dancing, pets and spending time with her grandchildren and great-granddaughter. She especially enjoyed spending time with grandson Evan Harper and supporting him in all his hobbies and preparing meals.

Survivors include her daughter, Melinda May Southall of Ripley; grandchildren, Ashton Harper, Evan Harper, Mariah Southall and two grandchildren in Colorado Springs;  special great-granddaughter, Nova Mae Rogers.

Graveside service will be 1 p.m. ~ November 10, 2025 in Jackson County Memory Gardens Mausoleum Chapel with Chaplain Pete Thompson Burial will follow on the cemetery grounds.
