Shirley Peyton Williams, age 79, of Middleport, OH, and formerly of Galax, VA, died on February 6, 2025 at home surrounded by her family.

Shirley was born on October 27, 1945 in Branchland, WV and was the daughter of the late William Alphonso Peyton and Dova Brumfield Davisson.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jarrell W. Williams; brothers Tom (Martha) Peyton, Danny Joe (Shirley) Peyton, and William (Paula) Alphonso Peyton, Jr.; son Robert Peyton Garnes; and daughter Lois Daniels.

She is survived by her brother Rodney (Sheila) Peyton; sisters Nancy Banks and Linda (Harold) Peyton Huff; daughter Leigh Schwendman; step-son David (Dena) Williams; step-daughter Jane (Roger) Winters; son-in-law Ray Daniels; grandchildren: Tasha (Pete) Chapman, Mikayla (Eli) Leigh, Krista Hedrick (Steve) Sullivan, Hannah (Loren) Parsons Withrow, Jamie (Lisa) Friend, and Robin Garnes; and step-grandchildren: Kyle Williams, Jordan Williams, Patrick (Tiki) Williams, Zack (Tasha) Winters, and Lauren (Patrick) MacMurchy; and many nieces and nephews; and great grandchildren.

As requested by Mrs. Williams, a funeral service will not be held. A private memorial service will be held at a later date for family.
