Velma Louise (White) Dolly , 82, of Sandyville, WV, passed away February 9, 2023 at Jackson General Hospital, Ripley.

She was born May 25, 1940 at Alpena, WV the daughter of the late Emerson and Nettie (Summerfield) White. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Dolly on January 16, 2023; brothers, Emerson White, Jr., Ronald Everett White and Willard Trent White; sister, Barbara Ann (White Hinchman; son-in-law, Brian Hill and close members to the family Charlie Whipkey and Mohammad Al Baghdadi.

Survivors include her children, Monty Dolly of Grantsville, WV, Audrey Brewer of Sandyville, WV and Sonya Hill of Ripley, WV; sisters, Rita (White) Williams of Pomona, KS, Emma (White) Cannon of Frostburg, MD and Joyce (White) Trail of Elkins, WV; grandchildren, Nathan (Kristin) DeWees of Evans, Kelsey Hill of Ripley and Kayla (Brian) Cariani of Gardner, KS.

Velma was a homemaker and loved to sing. She and her husband, John traveled to many churches and sings in the area. She was a cake decorator and enjoyed playing the piano and accordion.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, February 12, 2023 at Casto Funeral Home, Evans, WV with Pastor Adam Nester officiating. Private burial will follow in the Independence Cemetery, Sandyville. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until time-of-service on Sunday at the funeral home.
