Vera Y. (Knapp) Smith, 88, of Ravenswood, WV, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2024 in the Arbors at Marietta, Marietta, OH, following an extended illness.

She was born February 12, 1936, in Leon, WV, a daughter of the late Dorcel A. and Zelma (Thornton) Knapp.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husbands, Owen E. Stephens, and James A. Smith; son O.  Eugene Stephens Jr.; brother, Charles D. Knapp.

Vera was a 1953 graduate of Point Pleasant High School and was a  Lutheran by faith.

Survivors include her daughter Odean Y. Stephens of Ravenswood; granddaughter Lindsey (Artie) Lopez of Antelope, CA; great grandchildren, Delia and Nicholas Lopez; brother D. Warren (Joyce) Knapp, of Westerville, OH; sister-in-law, Zertha Knapp of Southside, WV.

A celebration of life will be held at the Knapp Reunion in 2025 at Krodel Park in Point Pleasant, WV.
