William Joseph "Joey" Mahan Jr., 43, of Ravenswood, WV, passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, in Jackson General Hospital, Ripley, WV, following a sudden illness.

He was born October 27, 1980, in Parkersburg, WV, the son of William Joseph, Sr. and Joyce Ann (Rhodes) Mahan of Ravenswood.

Joey was formerly employed by West Virginia Paving. He enjoyed wrestling, football and basketball, all of which he participated in at Ravenswood High School. He also enjoyed construction and building.

Survivors in addition to his parents are his sons, Karsen D. and Linken T. Mahan; companion, Kasie Roush of Ravenswood; brother, Justin Tyler (Bridget) Mahan of Letart; sister, Pamela Winters Smith (Jessie) of Ravenswood; best friend, Chris Smith; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Service will be 1 p.m., Saturday, January 6, 2024, at Casto Funeral Home, Ravenswood, WV, with the Rev. Rob Ely officiating. Burial will follow in the Flatwoods Cemetery, Ravenswood, WV. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time-of-service Saturday at the funeral home.
