Wilma F. Rhodes , 87, of Gay, Roane County, WV, passed away February 26, 2023 at the home of her daughter, Janet following a brief illness.

She was born December 4, 1935 in Gay, the daughter of the late Clate and Grace (Tuttle) Whited. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Chalmer M. Rhodes; daughter, Beverly A. (Rhodes) Yoak and a sister, Mary Whited.

Wilma was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse from Roane General Hospital, Spencer. She was a Jackson County Belle and enjoyed quilting, cooking, baking, canning and visiting with friends and family. She attended the Napier Church, Gay.

Wilma is survived by her daughter and her husband, Janet and Jeff Parsons of Gay; son-in-law, Michael Yoak of Brunswick, GA; brothers, Clifford Whited (Ruth), Dorsey Whited (Karen) and sister, Rita Bailey (Bob) all of Akron, OH. grandchildren, Michael A. Yoak, Anthony Yoak (Heather) and Meredith (Yoak) Parker (Steven); several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by Tracy Chase of Goldtown and Travis Fisher of Sissonville who were like sons to Wilma and Chalmer.

Service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at Casto Funeral Home Chapel, Evans, WV with Pastor Randy Whited officiating. Burial will follow in the Evans Cemetery, Gay, WV. Visitation will be one hour prior to time of service at the funeral home.
